Name of Exam: Pre-Entry Test (PET) 2023

Eligibility Criteria for D.El.Ed Admission 

Below In this Section, we Describe the All Eligibility Criteria for D.El.Ed Admission such as Necessary Educational Qualification, Candidates Age limits, Application fees structure, etc.


Necessary Educational Qualification:

The applicant must have a Higher Secondary pass (10+2) or its equivalent examination from recognized Boards/Councils with at least 50% marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in extra optional. (For candidates belonging to SC/ST category there will be a relaxation of 5% of marks in aggregate).

Candidates Age Limits:

As on July 1, 2023, the candidate must be less than 18 years old or older than 34 years old. Candidates from the SC, ST(P), and ST(H) categories will receive a 2-year relaxation.

Reservation Candidates:

According to the reservation policy, seats will be reserved for applicants who fall within the specified groups of OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P), ST(H), and Persons with Disabilities (PWD).

Application Fees Details :

 Rs.600.00 (Rupees Six Hundred Only) for all categories to be paid online (Internet Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Wallet).

Admit Card:

After submitting their registration information online, candidates will be able to access their admit cards by entering their registration number and date of birth on the SCERT Assam D.El.Ed PET Admit Card or SCERT official website starting on September 1st, 2023.


Pre-Entry Test (PET) Venue: 

Pre-Entry Test (PET) venues will be allocated in the districts chosen by applicants when submitting their application forms; these districts will be listed on the applicants' admit cards. The chosen candidates will be given seats in the Teacher Education Institutes (TEls) of the district where they want to take the Pre-Entry Test (PET).

Syllabus of D.El.Ed Pre-Entry Test

The State Educational Research and Training Council will administer a test to choose deserving applicants for admission to the two-year elementary education diploma program. For the convenience of visitors to our website and applicants for this exam, we have included the PET exam syllabus in this area.

The test will have two sections, Section-I and Section II. The question pattern and marking according to these sections will be as follows.

Total Time: 2 Hours

Type of Question: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

Number of Questions: 100 Questions


Negative Marking: A mark of 0.25 will be deducted from the candidate's final score for each wrong response. More than one answer given to a question will be treated as an incorrect answer.
