For Class: Participants in class VIII are eligible to take the NMMS test.
School: To be eligible for the scholarship, pupils must attend a government or provincialized school that is overseen by the Assam government's Department of School Education. Private school, JNV, and KV students may take the exam, but they will not be chosen for the scholarship.

Students who are found qualified in the NMMS exam will get a scholarship of Rs.12,000/- per year during classes IX, X, XI, and XII.
