NSP Scholarship 2023–24: The National Scholarship Portal is an online scholarship resource that connects students in India with a variety of fellowships and scholarships to help them finish their studies. Latest Update: For disbursement of scholarships under scholarship schemes of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government has decided to conduct re-verification after considering the findings of physical verification of institutions/beneficiaries by NCAER for the academic year 2022-23, application and verification of SNO/ DNO/ INO/HoI/ applicants by conducting special drives through Aadhaar based bio-metric authentication

Eligibility Criteria for NSP Scholarship 2023-24

NSP Pre-Matric Scholarship

Eligibility-

  1. Scholarships will be given to students who received at least 50% in their previous final exams and whose parents' or guardians' annual income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1.00 lakh.

Scope- 

  1. The scholarship will be awarded for studies in India in a government or private school from class I to class X.
  2. The scholarship will be available to the students of minority communities studying in Classes I to X.

NSP Post Matric Scholarship

Eligibility- 

  1. Scholarships will be given to students who received at least 50% or a comparable grade in their previous final exam and whose parents' or guardians' combined annual income does not exceed Rs. 2.00 lakh.

Scope -

  1. The scholarship will be given for further secondary school, college, or university study in a public or private institution in India. Additionally, grades XI and XII level technical and vocational courses, including polytechnics and other courses, will be covered in Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centres accredited with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
  2. Students in Classes XI and XII who are enrolled in technical and vocational courses at this level, such as Polytechnics, ITIs, and other courses, will be given scholarships.


Merit Cum Means Scholarship For Professional & Technical Courses CS

Eligibility- 

  1. Scholarships will be given to students who received at least 50% in their previous final examination or an equivalent grade and whose parents' or guardians' combined annual income does not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh.


Scope- 

  1. The scholarship will be given for study in India at a public or private institution that has been chosen and publicly announced by the relevant state government or union territory administration. Undergraduate and graduate technical and professional courses will be covered. Appendix E has a list of the courses.
  2. The scholarship is open to students who are accepted into a college to study technical or professional degrees after passing a competitive examination.


Required Documents for NSP Scholarship

The students must upload specific papers during the scholarship application procedure on NSP in order to finish the application. However, students are not required to upload any documents for scholarships worth less than INR 50,000. They must provide a copy of their documentation to the appropriate school, college, or institute. The following records should be kept by the students for all other scholarships:


  1. Bank Passbook
  2. Educational documents
  3. Aadhaar number
  4. Domicile Certificate (as specified in the respective scholarship guidelines)
  5. Income Certificate (as specified in the respective scholarship guidelines)
  6. Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  7. Bonafide student certificate from school/institute (if the institute/school is different from the domicile state of the applicant)

How to apply for the NSP scholarship at National Scholarship

Following the instructions, eligible candidates may submit an online application for an NSP Scholarship.


Step 1: Searching for the Institute

  1. Visit the home page of the National Scholarship portal ie. scholarships.gov.in.
  2. Click on the ‘Search for Institute‘ button.
  3. Fill in the required details and get the institution list.
  4. If the institution is not registered, the candidates can request their institutions to register on the portal by clicking here.


Step 2: Register with National Scholarship Portal (NSP)

  1. All fresh users need to visit the Home Page of the National Scholarship Portal to register.
  2. Click on ‘New Registration’.
  3. A page of Guidelines for Registration on NSP will open.
  4. Go through the guidelines carefully.
  5. Click on ‘Continue’ to proceed.
  6. Fill in all required details.
  7. Click on ‘Register’.
  8. You will receive a student application ID and password on your registered mobile number.


Step 3: Logging in with National Scholarship Portal

  1. Click on the login button to start the scholarship application.
  2. Enter the application ID and password received on your registered number.

Step 4: Change the password (A mandatory step)

  1. Upon successful login, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
  2. Verify the OTP.
  3. You will be directed to change the password page.
  4. Change the password and continue.

Step 5: Enter the Dashboard of NSP

  1. Once the password is changed, you will be directed to Applicant’s Dashboard Page.
  2. Click on ‘Application Form’ to start the application.
  3. Fill in all registration details, academic details and basic details.
  4. Click on ‘Save & Continue’.
  5. Add contact details, and scheme details and upload necessary documents.
  6. Click on ‘Save as Draft’ (To confirm if you have entered correct information)
  7. Once confirmed, click on ‘Final Submit’ button.

Note: Scholarship applications cannot be modified once they have been submitted. The applicants are therefore urged to double-check before hitting final submit because changes to the information will not be accepted after that.
