SBI PO Educational Qualification Details

SBI PO's educational requirements as of December 31, 2023

The candidate must hold an equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government or be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. Those who are in their last year/semester of graduation are also eligible to apply provisionally, however, they must show proof of passing their graduation examination if they are called in for an interview. Candidates who have received an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate must make sure that the IDD's passing date corresponds to the notification's stated date. Chartered Accountant-certified candidates are also welcome to apply.

The SBI PO recruitment exam is the premier among the public-sector bank exams in India. It is considered a little difficult compared to the bank entrance exams conducted by IBPS. The recruitment process for Probationary Officers at SBI consists of 3 stages:

1. Preliminary Examination
2. Main Examination
3. GD/Interview

The following considerations regarding the SBI PO selection procedure should be kept in mind by applicants:

1. Biometric Verification: The bank may digitally record the applicant's thumb impression in order to provide a secure and error-free selection process for SBI PO 2023. This is done to ensure that the candidates are sincere. Any discrepancy in the biometric verification will result in the rejection of the application and harsh legal consequences. Therefore, candidates are encouraged not to use any kind of external substance on their hands, such as ink, Mehandi, chemicals, etc.
2. Number of Attempts: The maximum number of chances is fixed for each category. Candidates who have used up all the chances are not eligible to apply. Appearing in the Preliminary Exam is not counted as an attempt but appearing in the Mains Exam is counted.

SBI PO 2023 Exam Pattern

There are three stages to the SBI PO selection procedure. The written tests are given online, and an interview round follows. Exams are structured as follows:

SBI PO Preliminary Examination, Phase 1

The candidates for this online test get one hour to complete the 100-point question paper. For each erroneous response, a penalty of one-fourth of a mark will be applied. Three sections make up the test. The sectional cut-off in the preliminary exam has been eliminated, and candidates will now be chosen for the next stage based on their overall performance across all sections. The Bank determines the minimum score required to pass each component each year based on how challenging the test is. Below is a breakdown of the scores by section:
