Educational Qualification: 

  1. Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.


Age Limit: 

  1. The candidate’s age should be between 20 years to 30 years as of 31st October 2023. Candidates must have been born not later than 31st October 2002 and not earlier than 1st November 1993 (both days inclusive).


Age Relaxation: 

  1. Upper age relaxation will be 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates, 5 years for ST candidates and 10 years for PwD candidates.

Online Test Process of SBI Recruitment

The online exam will consist of a 50-mark descriptive test and a 120-mark objective test. Immediately following the completion of the Objective Test, applicants will take the Descriptive Test, for which they must type their answers on a computer.

  • Objective Test: The objective test will have a duration of 2 hours and will be divided into 4 sections, totaling 120 marks. Each section will have a designated time allocation.

  • Test of Descriptive Analysis: This test will take thirty minutes to complete. The test will evaluate the candidates' command of the English language using exercises like writing essays and letters, each with two questions and a possible fifty marks.


The total scores received in the online test will be taken into consideration when creating the merit list, which will be done both circle- and category-wise. Sectional qualifying marks won't exist. The top candidates from the merit list drawn on a Circle-wise and Category-wise basis will be shortlisted for the Screening phase, roughly three times the number of Circle-wise and Category-wise vacancies. This is contingent upon the candidate meeting the minimum cumulative qualifying score that the Bank deems necessary.


Negative Marking: There will be no penalty for wrong answers marked in Objective Tests.


Screening of SBI Recruitment

Online application and documents of candidates, who are shortlisted based on performance in online examination, will be placed before the Screening Committee. The Screening Committee constituted by the Bank will examine whether the candidates fulfil the required eligibility criteria of experience. The Committee will match the job profile submitted by the candidates (certified by their existing/ previous employer(s) with whom they are/were employed) with the job profile of Scale-I Generalist Officer of the State Bank of India. In case their job profile does not match substantially or is different than the job profile of Scale-I Generalist Officer of State Bank of India, then the application of the candidate will be summarily rejected. The decision of the Bank in this regard would be final and binding on all candidates. No representation or correspondence will be entertained by the Bank in this regard. The candidates, who fulfil the required experience as decided by the Screening Committee, will be called for an interview.


Screening of SBI Recruitment

The interview phase will be worth fifty points. To be considered for the final selection, candidates must receive the required minimum qualifying marks during the interview. The precise minimum qualifying scores for this stage will be decided by the Bank.

Final Selection of SBI Recruitment

Candidates need to meet separate requirements for the interview and online test. The final merit list will be created by combining the marks from the Objective and Descriptive Tests from the online test with the marks from the interview. The final merit list will be created by normalizing the scores from the interview and online test, which will be weighted 75:25 each.


The conversion factor for the candidates' marks in the online test (out of 170 marks) is out of 75, and the conversion factor for their interview scores (out of 50 marks) is out of 25. The converted marks from the online test and interview are added together to create the final merit list, which is compiled both circle- and category-wise. This results in a final score out of 100. The candidates at the top of the merit list, which was created using both circle and category criteria, will be chosen.
